Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic says Eden Hazard is asking him questions about Real Madrid.
Kovacic is on a season-long loan from Los Blancos.
Hazard, meanwhile, has been heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu.
“For me, he is an incredible player,” Kovacic said when quizzed about the Belgian maestro.
“I did not know he was that good and he can easily be one of the two or three best players in the world.
“He is focused a lot on doing great things with Chelsea.”
Hazard has been in standout form for the Blues this season and Real are still monitoring his availability.
The Blues value their prized asset in excess of £150m.
However, Chelsea hero Michael Essien has hinted that his old team-mate might want to test himself in La Liga.
Essien exclusively told Express Sport: “Hazard is one of the best players in the world.
“He’s been playing in the Premier League very well and looks fantastic at the moment.
“The interest of Real Madrid, I only hear from people in the media.
“But I mean when Real Madrid come calling… every player would love to play for them.
“He’s happy at Chelsea though and hopefully we can keep him.”
Even if Hazard doesn’t leave the club in January, three other players could be packing their bags.
Danny Drinkwater, Victor Moses and Andreas Christensen are all facing New Year transfers.
Moses and Drinkwater have been linked with Crystal Palace and Fulham respectively.
Barcelona are monitoring Christensen’s availability closely.
Essien says he understands why the trio might want to move on.
“Every player wants to play,” he said.
“Chelsea isn’t an easy place to come and the competition is very fierce.
“At the end of the day, all the players work but it’s the manager who will pick who he wants to play.
“When you’re not playing you get frustrated and you want to look elsewhere.
“It’s up to them really but they have to keep working and then everyone gets their chance.”
